Racist Bulgaria

Last night England beat Bulgaria 6-0. However, it was a terrible night overall. Bulgaria continuously chanted racist phrases. There were young black players like Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford and Tyrone Mings making his debut. It was absolutely disgusting how they were conducting themselves. Nazi salutes in the stand can not continue. It is a salute that goes back to the biggest crime in human history. I do not know how England can deal with this though. Could they have walked off of the pitch? Maybe but they all wanted to continue. However, they made a decision and stuck to it. But the thing about racism is that it takes away from the football. It was a superb performance from all of the team bouncing back from a terrible loss on Friday. The link-up play with Barkley Kane Sterling and Rashford were superb. They have to keep playing like this because if they do. England could be dangerous.

India Thrash South Africa

India has gone till mill up in their Test series against India. After comfortably being beaten in the first test thanks to a good bowling performance and twin hundreds from Rohit Sharma. A first-innings 254 from Virat Kohli showed just how good he is. None of the South African batters even came close. Being bowled out for 275 and 189 to lose the test by an innings an 137 runs. Now the real question here is why can’t South Africa perform in India. It isn’t like them have been unlucky in the first couple of game. Is South Africa the problem here or on home soil is India too hard to beat? I’m not sure.

Eluid Kipchoge🏃

This man ran a marathon in under 2 hours. 1 hour 59 minutes and 40 seconds. This is truly incredible most scientists thought this was considered impossible. Eluid broke what many people thought was impossible. To put some of this into perspective imagine running 200 metres in 34.60 seconds and doing that 211 times without any rest. The 33-year-old Kenyan athlete has competed in 11 marathons he has one ten out of 11 finishing second in the one he didn’t win. The faster marathon by a none professional athlete was 3 hour 48 minutes. That’s a difference of more than an hour of three quarters. How much more time can be taken off the marathon record?

YouTube Boxing

KSI vs Logan Paul 2 is happening November 10th at staples centre at 5 am (bst.) Micheal Bisping, a successful UFC fighter has called this a mockery of the sport of boxing. Furthermore, a lot of mainstream media have referred to youtube boxing in a disrespectful manner. They feel threatened. The last fight which ended in a draw had 21,000 tickets sold and 1 million pay per view buys and many many more watching it illegally on twitch. The fight will be available to watch on sky sports boxing box office. One of the undercards is Billy Joe Saunders vs Marcelo Esteban for a world title. Isn’t it crazy how youtube is so big now that a world title can be on the undercard, not the main event? I think this is a good thing for boxing as a whole though. They are introducing a whole new audience to there sport of boxing. You have fighters/ YouTubers like Vidal Riley he could be world champion one day. He is training with the Mayweather team. Wouldn’t it be crazy in 7 years having a boxing world champion have his own YouTube channel?

Like it or not youtube is the way forward and mainstream media are afraid of this.

Brunt and Sciver anounce engagment

I feel that this is a big step forward for cricket. Hopefully, the backlash is positive which I am sure it will be. This is the first time that I can remember to cricketers male or female openly admitting they are in a relationship. This will also help the LGBT community. If this can help say young girls and boys come out and be open about there sexuality then this can only be a good thing.

English players in the big bash

Tom Curran, a player who has been in the big bash for a few seasons now. An extremely good season last year. He will be hoping to push on. This series comes after the new Zealand t20 series. If he does well in both it will help him progress towards the world t20.
Harry Gurney currently enduring a very good CPL he was unlucky not to be selected in the t20 squad to New Zealand. Arguably Englands best death bowler. Definitely, the best death bowler not to have been selected in the winter white ball tours.
Joe Denly hasn’t performed for England in t20 cricket. However, like Tom Curran, he could push his case for the world t20. However, I feel this will be difficult with all of the batting talents England have at the moment.
Alex Hales a year that could have been for Alex. He would have definitely played in the world cup with Roy’s injury. However, his off-field antics cost him. He must be kicking himself but Ashley Giles, England’s new director of cricket, says the door is not shut. Could he force his way in?
Tom Banton a breakthrough season for the young up and coming 20 year old. A big blast season making shore England and the big bash came calling. The IPL contract isn’t far away and neither is a regular England spot.

Omissions from Englands test squad

  • Jonny Bairstow, where has it all gone wrong for him with an average of less than 20 against Australia it’s no surprise he isn’t in the team. He also isn’t getting any older at 30 years old. His test future looks bleak.
  • Ben Foakes he without a doubt is the best wicketkeeper in the country. He has a test century and an average of 40 in test cricket. In addition to this Butler didn’t have a very good test match summer. Only looking himself in the final game. Is Butler at number 7 a luxury England can afford any more?
  • Lewis Gregory 51 wickets at 15.76 and 465 runs 29 with a 129 not out. A very good season and has performed well in all formats. Now if we compare that to Saquib Mahmood in division two. 136 runs at 17 and 21 wickets at 31. Now I’m not completely sure why the ECB has selected Mahmood and not Gregory. Mahmood bowls quicker than Gregory. But apart from that, I can’t think of another reason.
  • Jason roy a dreadful summer, not a test match player deservedly not in the squad.
