Team of the World cup group stages

  1. Rohit Sharma with 3 100’s at an average of 90 he has been incredible. He would be disappointed that he didn’t go on to win the game against England. He may have a semi or final to change that though.
  2. Jason Roy, not the volume of runs due to his injury. However, his 100 against Afghanistan was truly brilliant. When he didn’t play we lost all of our games. It seems that Bairstow can’t but without him.
  3. Joe root he has been very consistent with 2 100’s but he never seems to get out cheaply. He always chips in and is very consistent. He will have a chance in the semi’s and (hopefully) the final to score a big hundred.
  4. Babar Azam Pakistans best and most consistent batsman. He has done well this world cup. His match-winning hundred against New Zealand is one of the best hundreds I have seen.
  5. Shakib Al Hasan the highest run scorer in the world cup. His 7 fifties and a match-winning hundred against West Indies helped him to 606 runs. At an average of 86.57, he is the world cups highest run scorer and that’s just his batting. He has got 11 valuable wickets that have all contributed to Bangladesh’s wins.
  6. Ben Stokes, he has really turned a corner in this world cup. He at points has been Englands best batsman. His 4 fifties have been brilliant. He is back to his best form that he was in in 2017. Not to mention his outstanding fielding.
  7. Alex Carey, he has kept and batted really well. His counter-attacking runs have come at an average of 61. Great batsmen and talent.
  8. Starc he now looks like his old selves. His inswing yorkers and terrifying bouncers. He now has 24 wickets at an average of 15.54. He possibly has 2 more games to better this.
  9. Mohammed Amir with his 17 wickets at 21 he and Shaheen basically carried the Pakistan bowling.
  10. Shaheen Afridi, he has got better as the tournament has gone on. His 16 wickets have come at 15.54. A great young talent for world cricket.
  11. Mustafizar Rahman. The main Bangladesh seam bowling. His 20 wicked at 24 has been key to Bangladesh. Without him, they would definitely not have won there games.
