England’s starting XI for the ICC World Cup

  1. Jonny Bairstow a very consistent one day opener with the knack of scoring 100’s also a gun fielder.
  2. Jason Roy a fearless and brilliant white ball opener. He needs to add more hundreds to his game as Alex Hales is chomping at the bit to get back in.
  3. Joe Root the backbone of our middle order and the glue they can bat around.A very consistent one day performer.
  4. Eoin Morgan a very good leader as a captain who has taken this white ball side on leaps and bounds.
  5. Ben Stokes when on form he is with out a doubt the best all rounder in the world be he is in need of some ODI runs, which hopefully he gets in the West Indies.
  6. Jos Butler the best wicket keeper in the world and he shows it game in game out.His 100 at old Trafford has got to be the best one day innings that I’ve seen in a long time.
  7. Moen now consistently giving Eoin Morgan ten overs from him he is very important in the middle overs with Rashid. His batting needs to improve at the moment.
  8. Chris Woakes a very consistent one day performer who will open the bowling in this eleven. Chris is also very handy with the bat which he shows on several occasions.
  9. Jofra Archer, now available because of new qualification rules, the pace and x-factor we needed. Jofra I feel will be best used in the middle overs and when we need a wicket.
  10. David Willey, in combination with Woakes England have i very potent new ball bowling attack. Woakes is higher as I feel he is more consistent with his batting and I feel Jofra can just come in and try to smash it.
  11. Adil Rashid England’s most potent threat and in the last couple years he’s added consistency to his game making him Morgan’s go to man.
